Yesterday, Marta and colleagues from ARPA dismantled the advection equipment that was in place since July at the grassland of Torgnon (this time without a helicopter but a lot of motivated man-power). The equipment will remain in Aosta until next summer, when it is planned to be deployed at the Larch flux tower.
This week, Albin and Mario experienced some extra help with cutting the grass at our research site Neustift 😉
The last two days, Mirco Migliavacca from MPI Jena visited us to discuss the joint SIF and CO2/COS eddy flux measurements made this spring in Yatir forest (Israel).

The last three days, Katherina, Hannah, who is doing an internship with us this summer (on second picture), and Georg went to Ariis to conduct a final round of soil COS measurements, dismantle the equipment and bring it back to Innsbruck.
Beginning of July, Peng and Katharina, assisted by Marta and other ARPA staff, set up the advection equipment at the Torgnon grassland site for an extended campaign. Due to the difficult site access, our equipment was delivered by a helicopter, which created much excitement. The first picture has been taken by a drone and shows the present setup and the setup of the 2017 paper (red line) and the position of the permanent eddy flux tower (red circle).
