With great sadness we received notice that Ray Leuning, Australian micrometeorology and biophysical ecology pioneer and good friend, has passed last week.
The picture shows Ray and Georg in May 2012 during the break of mountain bike trip near Innsbruck.
You’ll be thoroughly missed Ray!
This week Kathi and Albin installed our dual QCL from Aerodyne at Lunz with the aim to be able to quantify CH4 fluxes from the lake, in particular during ice out next spring. Quite creepy weather …

Yesterday Kathi and Albin moved the flux equipment from the shore to the floating platform, which was removed from the lake during winter ice cover.
Today Noemiè, Sandra and Georg went to the two study sites (irrigated meadow and pasture) in Vinschgau to do a first round of spectroradiometer measurements with associated canopy structure, pigment content and so forth.
